Temporary and Professional Coaching Licenses:

It is mandatory that all New York State Scholastic Athletic Coaches (paid and/or volunteer) posess a license for each specific sport that he/she will coach. Non-teacher certified coaches must apply for their coaching certification on the New York State Education Department website. There is fee of $50 for each sport specific license that is applied for.

bullet Section IX Announces Season Start Dates for 2011-12:
Fall:
High School: Football - Varsity and JV : Mon., Aug. 15, 2011;
All Other High School Sports including Freshman Football: August 22, 2011
Modified Sports: Modified Sports may start on September 6, 2011.
Winter:
High School: Ice Hockey: Mon, Nov. 1, 2011; All other High School Sports: November 14, 2011
Modified Sports: Modified Sports may start on Monday, November 21, 2011
Spring:
High School: March 12, 2012
Modified Sports: Modified Sports may start on Monday, March 19, 2012.
